About Anjali P.
Hey hey!
I’m Anjali 👋 and I’m so excited to be one of your Peer Mentors on the Computer Science Team! I just wrapped up my degree in Comp Sci (with double minors in Criminology & Math because…why not?) and I’m now diving into an MBA (Management & Change) at the Sprott School of Business here at Carleton.
This is my fifth year being part of the Science Student Success Centre (SSSC). Kind of wild, right? Over the years, I’ve mentored over 100 students, and honestly, every chat, every coffee-fueled coding crisis, and every little win has been the best part of my uni life.
Let’s be real though, university isn’t always smooth sailing. Sometimes it feels like you’ve been handed the controller to your life… but forgot to read the manual. So if I could pass on just three little nuggets of advice, they’d be:
- Set goals - big or small, they keep you grounded when life gets chaotic. Progress > perfection, always.
- Attend events, even if you're shy (i was too) - one conversation can change your path.
- Give yourself a break. You’re human. Rest your mind, your heart, and yes, your Netflix queue too. Your mental health matters more than any deadline. Period.
- (Because.. we start at 0. iykyk) Find your people - community makes everything better.
Oh! And fun fact: I’ve been part of 17+ clubs and orgs here at Carleton. I basically had a punch card for involvement, lol. I’ve gone from being just another curious first year to stepping into roles like Mentor, Team Lead, President, Delegate, Organizer, and now… !! startup founder. Let’s just say I’ve collected quite a few name tags over the years 😄
I love hackathons, messy whiteboards, coding challenges, and just building things: projects, communities, ideas, people. My whole uni journey has been about exploring everything I can get my hands on, then turning that chaos into something beautiful and meaningful.
So if you ever need a hand, want to brainstorm, vent, or just talk about life (or K-dramas, …or why your code only works at 2 AM.) ... I’m just a message away.
Languages I speak: English, Hindi, Gujarati, and some basic Korean!
