About Anjali P.

Hello World!

This is Anjali Patel, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as a Peer Mentor of the Computer Science Team. I am going into my 5th and the final year of Computer Science with double minors in Criminology and Mathematics.

With my experience as a Peer Mentor at the SSSC for the fourth time, I have had the privilege of helping numerous students navigate the challenges of university life.

Life at university can be rough & tough, especially when you finally have the controller of your life in your own hands. If I could give a piece of advice to my peers, I'd say three things:

  • Set goals, both short and long term. It lends a helping hand toward your success!
  • There are many opportunities out there. I would recommend seizing every single of them, as long as it is relevant to you and your goals.
  • Give yourself a break and have fun! Assignments are indeed important, but self-care is also necessary.

Fun fact: I've been involved with 15+ clubs and organizations at Carleton!

From simply being a mentee to becoming a Mentor, Team Lead, President, Head Delegate, Vice President, Event’s Organizer, and Representative of the Computer Science Department, I've had the joy of gaining a wide range of experiences that have helped shape me as a person. I've also enjoyed participating in hackathons, coding challenges, and various workshops. Exploring different opportunities has been my main purpose throughout my university journey.

Lastly, I believe in the power of building meaningful connections with those around you and taking baby steps to overcome your weaknesses. The time is now!

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or would like to have a chat. I am here to support and guide you throughout your journey and I'd be more than happy to connect with you.
