Hey everyone!
I’m Nihar, a third-year student majoring in Computer Science. This is my second year as a Peer Mentor with the SSSC, and I’m really excited to work with you all!
A piece of advice for incoming first-year students is to set goals and actively work toward them. Whether it’s getting a great GPA, joining new clubs, or making new friends, by setting goals you challenge yourself to accomplish something and gain new experiences. Making a plan can help you with managing your time and staying accountable to your goals. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. We have so many resources here at Carleton, and everyone wants you to succeed! Make sure to have fun; as important as it is to do well, it’s just as important to take care of yourself!
During my time at Carleton, I have been involved with various activities on and off campus! Being involved in these activities has taught me so much and allowed me to develop my skills. It has also given me the opportunity to meet amazing people and gain lots of incredible experiences. I would definitely recommend getting involved in some sort of extracurriculars during your time at university.
