Join us the week of Monday, March 7th - Friday, March 11th as we celebrate Science Kindness week and being kind to one another. Join your friends and peers throughout the week to participate in fun and inclusive community events. Science Kindness Week events will be done through Zoom and the SSSC Instagram.
The days of Science Kindness Week are as follows:
- How to Make a Medicine Pouch, Monday, March 7th @ 2:30 pm EST
Join the SSSC and Vanessa Cyr from the Centre for Indigenous Support and Community Engagement for a fun session learning how to create your own medicine pouch! During the session, Vanessa will guide the group not just through the construction of the pouch, but also through stories exploring Indigenous teachings, knowledge, artistic tradition, and emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental wellbeing.

- Pet Day, Tuesday, March 8th
Share pictures of your pets on the SSSC Instagram and watch live Carleton Therapy Dog sessions! The live therapy dogs will be available through the Carleton Therapy Dog Instagram. More information about these sessions is coming soon.
- The Science of Kindness, Wednesday, March 9th
Join the SSSC and Carleton Science Student Society on the SSSC and SciSoc Instagrams as they explore and share the actual science behind kindness, scientific articles about the influence of kindness, and how being kind promotes mental health and well being.
- Uplifting Sticky Notes, Thursday, March 10th
Spreading some positivity on- and off-campus with sticky notes around your favourite science buildings and virtually on the SSSC Instagram!
- Game Night, Thursday, March 10th @ 6:00pm EST
The SSSC will be hosting an online game night where you can hang out with other Faculty of Science students, meet some new friends, and potentially win some fabulous prizes! Click here to learn more about the event and register.
- Make your own Vision Board, Friday, March 11th
A vision board is a physical collection of items such as pictures, clippings, words, and quotes that visually affirm your goals and dreams. Join SSSC mentors to learn how to create your own vision board, and how it can help you map and visualize your goals.
