About Isabella M.

Hello!

My name is Isabella and I’m going into my fourth year in Biology with a concentration in Molecular and Cellular Biology. This is my second year volunteering with the SSSC, and I’m really excited to meet everyone!

One piece of advice I would give to all first-year students is to take care of yourself. Whether that means taking an afternoon off to relax, finding a study routine that works for you, or joining a club! University is a great time to explore different ideas, make friends, and of course, learn more about subjects you are passionate about. Although it can feel at times overwhelming, this is your own journey and experience. Talk to people, ask questions, make mistakes and learn from them.

A little bit about me: since joining Carleton I have been part of study groups and clubs, worked in undergraduate research (through DSRI, directed studies, and USRA programs), and had a few on-campus jobs. I’ll be starting my thesis this year, which I’m really excited about! Outside Carleton, I’ve also volunteered in the community, which has taught me a lot about empathy and communication.

I’d love to chat about your goals, study habits, research opportunities, volunteering, or anything you think could benefit you in your academic journey. Feel free to reach out and book a time to chat!
