Stop by the SSSC between 1:30pm-2:30pm to meet Penny: one of Carleton's therapy dogs! If you want to relax, unwind, de-stress, or pet a cute dog, Penny can help! Here's a little bit more about her, straight from Penny herself:
Woof (that’s dog for “Hello”),
My name is Penny, but my handler calls me Pen and Miss Money Penny – bonus trivia points if you know the reference. I am a newly certified Carleton Therapy Dog and I love to spend time making people smile. I am a miniature golden-doodle, and often mistaken for a puppy even though I am super mature 🙂 My favorite things include:
- A good play session
- Scratch of my belly
- Chasing squirrels (one of these days, I’ll catch one…)
- Meeting new people
I never thought I would get into University, and especially Carleton (Go Ravens!). After working so hard on my obedience training and a big test, they let me in! I’m so excited to be a part of the Therapy Dog team with my handler, and to help students reduce stress and anxiety as I know how hard university can be for you! I am also told us dogs can help with homesickness and improving a sense of community (that all sounds good to me!)
Well, I’m off to look for squirrels, but hope I get to meet you soon!
