Join us on January 23rd from 4:30 to 7:00 pm for "Building Connections: Networking for Aspiring Researchers & Graduate Students"—a two-part event designed to help you kick-start your academic and professional journey.
This event, co-hosted by the Science Student Success Centre (SSSC) and Career Services, will begin with a 1-hour workshop led by Career Services on "How to Network". You’ll learn valuable skills such as how to effectively reach out to potential contacts, how to build and maintain connections, and tips for crafting a compelling elevator pitch.
After the workshop, you’ll have the chance to participate in Q&A booths facilitated by the SSSC's Career Team. This is your opportunity to talk directly with fellow undergraduates who are conducting research, as well as current graduate students. You can learn about their experiences, how they networked their way into research opportunities, and the resources they use to succeed.
Networking is a key skill not only for researchers but for anyone pursuing a career. This event will provide a solid foundation for your networking journey and equip you with tools you’ll use throughout your academic and professional life.
Don’t miss out on this chance to build connections and set yourself up for future success!
