About Mustafa H.
Hello! My name is Mustafa and I am undertaking a Masters of Biology at uOttawa and have an interest in pursuing medicine in the near future.
I am passionate about helping others and have invested much of my time supporting various clinical settings. I also like research and have garnered some experience in laboratory, field, and clinical research.
This is my third year at the SSSC and I’m excited to lead the Medical School Prep Team along with Katie. My time at the centre has been extremely rewarding and my advice to incoming students is to get involved, ask for help, and make use of all the resources available at Carleton University. My undergraduate experience at Carleton has been great and I wish I had gotten involved sooner!
I am currently working as a research assistant at CHEO and regularly volunteer at a palliative care facility. My master’s project in the Akimenko lab involves elucidating the evolutionary developmental mechanisms of the fin-to-limb transition.
During my free time, I attempt to read books, but eventually get distracted by my mischievous dog!
Please feel free to drop by if you have any questions and I will be more than happy to help you in any capacity!
