About MaryAnn W.
Hey there! I’m MaryAnn and I’m a Skype-yoga-dates-with-my-sister, hand lettering, and YouTube vortex loving fourth year Neuroscience Combined Honours student with a minor in Computer Science. From a first year representative to mentor to co-coordinator of KickStart, the SSSC has been a huge part of my undergrad and I’m so excited to be returning again for my 4th year in a row.
Since the summer of first year, I’ve been fortunate enough to work in Dr. Sue Bertram’s lab examining the behavioural ecology of field crickets. For this summer and coming school year, I’ll be testing my waters over at uOttawa looking at computational neuroscience under Dr. Tuan Bui, who will also be supervising my honours thesis.
I know that university intimidating, but venturing outside your comfort zone - even if that’s only sometimes - will honestly do you wonders. Without it, I wouldn’t be with the honours thesis supervisor I have nor would I have met some of the most amazing people I know. As cheesy as it sounds – I really wouldn’t be who I am today.
Questions? Comments? Concerns? Or just want to chat? Free to get in touch! I’m really looking forward to this coming school year :)
